In her review of The Beck Diet Solution: How to Train Your Brain to Think Like a Thin Person, Lisa Dorfman, MS, RD, LMHC commends Dr. Beck for offering good tools to help readers adopt healthy lifestyles. She also notes that the plan’s requirement that the dieter write down his or her goals and anticipated reactions to specific situations is good for people with difficulties dealing with spontaneous situations. Dorfman specifically recommends this book to yo-yo dieters who have tried countless diets but keep gaining back the weight. I love this diet because it’s working so well in changing the way I think about eating and this drives better behavior and choices. I just returned from a short pleasure trip and stepped on the scale this morning. No weight gained, even though I ate restaurant food for three days. It helped that the place I stayed in had fresh fruit, whole grains, protein and veggies available at every meal (including breakfast). Also having a ‘fridge in the room helped. A few years ago a vacation would have meant a gain in weight. Not anymore. I’m so confident of that based on recent vacation experiences and happy to be adopting the “think thin” mindset
